When can a child use a duvet and pillow?
The move from sleeping bag to duvet, what size to buy, and why the toddler bed is the milestone that matters.
From sleeping bag to duvet
Common guidance is to introduce a duvet and pillow from around 12 to 24 months, and in practice the move usually coincides with leaving the cot for a toddler bed. Before then, a wearable sleeping bag is the safer option because it cannot be pushed over the face.
Many families keep both: a sleeping bag for travel and a duvet at home during the transition.
What size duvet and pillow
135 × 100 cm is the standard European toddler-bed duvet size and the size we make. For pillows, children need something flat: 40 × 40 cm is ideal for the first years, 40 × 60 cm once they are in a larger bed.
The comfort of premium down
Choose a duvet that is light, breathable and washable. Ours is filled with certified premium down, carries OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification with the NOMITE® seal for house-dust-mite allergy sufferers, and lasts 10+ years with proper care.
